The Environmental Health Sciences concentration is designed to prepare students for positions with local, national and International Public Health/Environmental Health agencies and industry. They will be able to develop environmental health initiatives and enforce existing regulations In addition, graduates of this program will be eligible to enter programs in the health professions, including medicine, dentistry, optometry, osteopathy, podiatry, and veterinary medicine and will also be qualified to sit for national certification which will enhance their advancement and employment opportunities.
This concentration will emphasize recognition, evaluation, and control of environmental health problems. This includes application of basic environmental health principles to problem solving; use of laboratory and quantitative methods to generate and evaluate environmental health data; and use of computer technology to calculate, analyze and display data.
