Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine is committed to advancing public health through learning, research, and practice. Our school is proud of its internationally respected faculty, its dedicated students, and its resolve to improve health worldwide.

With more than 1400 students from more than 65 countries, our school challenges students to see how local and global health issues are tightly woven together. Studying vector-borne diseases such as malaria and its effect in Africa quickly rolls into work on West Nile virus in the United States. From grassroots initiatives to international collaborations, our faculty and students are committed to improving public health worldwide.

Dean Pierre Buekens, MD, PhD

Our school offers a collegial and stimulating environment and unparalleled opportunities to work alongside public health leaders. From our women's health center to our Center for Biomedical Research, students and faculty engage in hands-on training and research. They work in rural communities in Guatemala and in inner-city programs in New Orleans. They improve water conditions for African villages and they improve the health of poor, isolated, rural American communities. At Tulane, we're globally committed to public health ~ from our front door to yours.

Best wishes,
Pierre Buekens, MD, PhD
