Peace Corps/Master's Internationalist Program
More than 230 Peace Corps volunteers have been placed in 32 developing countries since this program's inception at Tulane in 1988. It is the largest of its kind in the United States. Students simultaneously apply to Tulane and the Peace Corps, obtaining their master of science in public health degree (MSPH) or master of public health degree (MPH) with 40 academic credits and successful Peace Corps service. The U.S. Peace Corps and Tulane University have partnered to promote international opportunities to Louisiana residents by creating a satellite office in New Orleans. The office, being sponsored by the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, serves as a resource center for applicants.


MD/MPH Program
The MD/MPH program is designed for students who want to complete a medical degree and a public health degree in four years.

Preventive Medicine Residency for Physicians
This unique program, co-sponsored by the medical and public health schools, is designed to train residents for careers in academic, administrative and /or clinical preventive medicine/public health. The two-year program is designed to fulfill requirements leading to certification by the American Board of Preventive Medicine.

Distance Learning
The Center for Applied Environmental Public Health (CAEPH) is a multidisciplinary center focusing on occupational and environmental public health. CAEPH directs and coordinates major applied research projects and professional education programs offered via state-of-the-art distance learning technologies. The multidisciplinary team includes expertise in toxicology, risk assessment, epidemiology and surveillance, behavioral science, data analysis and information systems, evaluation, communication, and management.

Executive Programs
Executive degrees offered by Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine provide educational opportunities to professionals who cannot attend traditional on-campus programs. This can be accomplished through concentrated weekend or 7-day sessions with independent work, on-location classrooms with a traveling instructor, or technology-mediated distance learning.
