Center for Health
Equality Research
Mission
~ To improve the heath of priority populations through research that
examines ways to expand access to health care, increases the quality
of health care services, and informs health policy and practice;
~ To initiate and lead implementation programs to translate this research
into practice.
An advisory board of distinguished health services researchers and policy-makers
guides the strategic development of the Center for Health Equality Research.
The center focuses on research related to eliminating health disparities,
a critical issue for the population of Louisiana. It is a collaborative
effort between the Tulane schools of public health and medicine. It
is physically housed in the Department of Health Systems Management
in the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.
Survey for Tulane Faculty
The school's strategic plan includes a focus on health disparities and
inequalities in access to care and in health outcomes. We would appreciate
faculty participation in the following survey, which will help us examine
health disparity research underway in the Health Sciences Center.
