Location: Washington, DC

The Department of International Health and Development seeks to hire a Researcher in the area of family planning and reproductive health.

The Department is interdisciplinary and international in scope. Researchers from the fields of demography and reproductive health, economics, epidemiology, public nutrition, medical anthropology, public mental health, and development focus on the policy and programmatic issues in improving health in global settings. The Department's research portfolio includes support from USAID, CDC, NIH and foundations. Four major grants focus on Monitoring and Evaluation, an area for which the Department is well known.

The successful candidate will work predominately on the Global Health Private Sector Program (PSP) which is funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development.  This project focuses on increasing sustainable provision and use of quality reproductive health and voluntary family planning.  To meet the needs of the PSP project, candidates should have substantive interests in the development of new service delivery systems for family planning and reproductive health in developing countries and on the impact of these systems on the cost, quality and access to health services.  An important component of the PSP project is monitoring the performance of private sector family planning programs according to the PSP Results Framework. The candidate must be experienced in indicator development and in the use of the Results and/or Logical Frameworks.

Applicants should have demonstrated expertise in quantitative methods and study design and should possess a broad knowledge of the use of survey methodologies.  Applicants should hold a doctoral degree in family planning or reproductive health, sociology, demography, economics, health policy or survey research. A minimum of 3-5 years of practical experience in Monitoring and Evaluation is required.

This is a non-tenure track position. The rank of the position will depend on experience.  We seek candidates with practical experience of monitoring international public health programs and a track record of publications.
