Together with other computing laboratories in the university, the SPHTM
facility collaborates with the Tulane Infrastructure Services (TIS)
which is centrally located in the Richardson building of the uptown
campus. The center serves as the general-purpose computing facility
for teaching, research studies, and administrative data processing throughout
the university community. TIS offers a cluster of high performance RISC
6000 processing nodes and an extensive network for terminal connectivity
across the university campuses, and a large library of programming languages
and programs. The campus library facilities are also accessible via
web browsers and terminal connections.
Each student of SPHTM is given access for home dialup (PPP) connectivity

Tulane University requires all full-time students to have health insurance.
Tulane offers a plan for those students who do not already have private
coverage. New students enrolling in the Fall are automatically charged
as are those students who have never declined the insurance in a past
semester. All other students, including new students enrolling for the
Spring semester must request this insurance through the administrative
office of the Student Health Center. Laboratory tests, radiological
exams, and prescription drugs are covered as specified by the individuals
insurance carrier. For those students covered by the Tulane Student
Medical Insurance Plan, refer to the insurance booklet for details.
For further information about the Student Health Center and the services
offered, we can be reached at 585-6929.
Louisiana state law requires that all students enrolled in higher education
institutions be immunized by two doses of measles vaccine, one dose
of mumps vaccine, one dose of rubella vaccine and a booster tetanus
vaccine within the last ten years. Students are required to provide
immunization records to the Office of Admissions prior to enrollment.
Counseling
Center
The
Educational Resources and Counseling Center located on the uptown campus
offers individual and group counseling to students presenting personal,
educational and vocational concerns. The centers testing office
provides a library of career information and a wide range of career
and psychological tests to help students make educational and vocational
decisions. Contacts with students, including scheduling of appointments,
test results and interviews are kept strictly confidential.
Students with disabilities who will be requesting special accommodations
of the university during their academic programs will need to complete
a form and submit specific documentation to Benjamin J. Cornwell, Coordinator
of Disability Services.
